Birthday's!
Today is my birthday, and I thought it was appropriate to talk about one of the things that we usually partake in on our birthday, and that is "Birthday Cake!".
This is the day we should indulge a little, after all it is the anniversary of the day we were born. Splurging on your birthday is A O.K....as far as I am concerned!
Here is a little info about the calorie count in our cake splurge;
All calories and fat are figured for one piece (about 1 oz) this is a very small piece! Most people eat two to three times this size.
Angel food cake.................................72 calories 2 grams of fat
Carrot cake.....................................118 calories 25 grams of fat
Chocolate/ chocolate frosting........75 calories 32 grams of fat
German chocolate.........................114 calories 24 grams of fat
White cake/coconut frosting.......101 calories 26 grams of fat
Yellow cake/chocolate frosting...106 calories 37 grams of fat
Cupcakes are not all created equal. There are some speciality cupcakes that are nearly 800 calories and 180 grams of fat....ouch!, and then they vary all the way down to 140 calories for one that has no frosting. So choose wisely on this!
So have your "cake" and "eat" it too on your birthday, that's what I am going to do. Enjoy!!
Till Tomorrow,
Queenie
