Diets Don't Work; But Lifestyle Eating Does

Diets, diets, diets; there is always a magical diet that is the latest and greatest in the dieting world that promises to fix your issue with being overweight. In all of my years of being a fitness trainer and dealing with nutrition as the most important part of losing fat, I can tell you that "none" of the diets that any of my friends or clients have been on give a permanent solution to losing body fat.

Diets such as Atkins, Cabbage Soup, Lemon water / molasses cleanse, raw food, or any of the boxed food or liquid diets, will give you a temporary weight loss, but I have never seen anyone be able to keep it off. Usually they gain back the weight plus five to ten pounds more within a year of losing it.

Diets don't work long term because you cannot continue to eat the way they tell you to long term without developing health issues. For instance; the Atkins diet can cause kidney problems, heart issues, osteoporosis, and other health issues, if stayed on long term.

We need a proper intake of protein, carbohydrates, and fats to stay nutritionally sound and healthy. Most of the fad diets take away these things to cause our body to lose the fat. If you take away carbs and eat just protein you will lose fat, and eventually lose your health.

If you take away protein and just eat vegetables, you will not heal properly, have energy, or have much strength, due to the fact that protein is the only thing that heals and repairs your body's tissues, organs, and muscles. You can not build muscle without protein!

If you are eating boxed foods to lose weight, as soon as you begin to eat regular food, you will begin to gain back the weight unless you learn how to eat regular foods properly. If you learn how to eat healthy with regular food, you wouldn't need to eat the boxed food to begin with.

If you want to lose fat and get healthy, learn to eat right for the rest of your life, not just to lose weight. I have written numerous blogs on the subject of nutrition that will give you all of the information you need to create a healthy eating plan for you.

Read my blogs on "Protein", "Eat your Vegetables", "Confusion about Carbohydrates", "Reasons to Stay Away from Processed Foods", "The Low Down on Fat", "Don't Drink Sodas", "Keeping a Food Diary", "Why We Need Fiber", "The Importance of Drinking Water", "Portion Control", "Healthy Snacks", and any blog that talks about nutrition will give you the education to make healthy and smart choices to create your own lifestyle diet.

So don't do crash diets, learn to eat right most of the time (if not all of the time) for life! If you get into the yo-yo diet thing, you can mess up your metabolism and then you'll be in big trouble. You will find it harder and harder to lose weight once that happens.

Choose health....eat natures foods, smaller portions, and you'll never have to diet again!

Till Tomorrow,
Queenie
